Minimally-invasive (MIPD) or open pancreatoduodenectomy (OPD)
The E-MIPS pancreatoduodenectomy cohort (MI-PD cohort) is a database containing approximately 1000 minimally-invasive pancreatoduodenectomy (MIPD) patients, collected at 20+ E-MIPS centers. Of these cases approximately 50% had pathology-confirmed adenocarcinoma. Data was collected retrospectively from patients who underwent surgery between 2007 and 2016. MIPD cases were collected and uploaded by individual centers.
The first study using the MI-PD cohort compared short term outcomes between MIPD and OPD, with data from the Dutch and German Pancreatic Surgery registries. This study was led by drs. Marc Besselink, Ugo Boggi, David Fuks, Mohamed Abu Hilal, Tobias Keck, and Ignasi Poves. First authors were drs. Sjors Klompmaker and Jony van Hilst. These investigators will be part of the committee to appraise and approve proposals for sub studies using the initial MI-PD cohort. All original contributors to the cohort can submit a proposal to use the MIPD cohort data.
For each sub study, an investigator has to submit a short study proposal (max. 2 pages) containing at least: rationale, objective(s), methods, strengths & limitations, planning & authorship proposal, ethical considerations, and a database dictionary. All proposals will be discussed and appraised by the initial investigators listed above. Proposals can be submitted here. The main investigator will receive a written confirmation by the initial investigators of the approval to publish with the cohort data.
